Quattro Wireless a provider of advertising technology and presence within the mobile market was acquired by Apple on Tuesday, January 5th for an approximated (although not yet disclosed) $275 million.
The mobile technology company was picked up by Apple after a failed attempt to bid for its larger and arguably more dominant competitor Admob, which was lost to Google just two months prior for an incredible $750 million in Google stock.
We see it as a bold yet uncharacteristic move on Apple’s part to seek exposure to the mobile market through advertising and mobile technology presence.
Quattro Wireless also employs a proprietary smartphone publishing division that competes with Avenue Mobile’s current development initiative, although how developed and well utilized this division is, has yet to be determined.
ISBX/Avenue Mobile continues to architect and develop state of the art code in an effort to deliver one of the most comprehensive automated Smartphone publishing platforms.
